Sometimes after not posting anything for awhile, I think to myself, “It’s been a month since I’ve done any writeups, I should put together some documentation.” And by the time I log in to do that, it turns out it’s been over a year since I’ve written anything up! A newborn and rushing to finish projects will do that to you.

In the coming months, I am hoping for a big retooling of the Seritech makerspace and the Workshop. I’m going to try to embark on a lot more renovation and restoration work, and hopefully have a lot more stuff to show soon.

The most important thing to set up first is a good system for compiling the documentation of the projects, because time has shown I’m not great at that. I tend to put it off until there’s so much backlog it seems easier to just forget it and try for the next project. So why document at all then, if I’m so predisposed to not? There is a certain allure and sense of completion that finishing the documentation provides that is not present without it. The forced reflection on the crafting of the project shines a lot of light on development problems and solutions I would not have thought about otherwise.

It’s a little late in the year for New Years resolutions, but I’m planning to make a concerted effort to show off a lot more cool projects soon.
